Adult Day Services
Mercycare Break is an adult day services program that provides medical and personal attention, physical therapy, and a stimulating social environment. It helps your loved one maintain dignity and independence, and gives you the time to care for yourself and the rest of your family.
For the Caregiver
Sometimes constant caregiving is more than you can take. Special medical needs may be too complicated. Personal care may require more lifting than you can handle. It can wear everyone out. And you can’t be there all the time. That’s when it’s time to take a Mercycare Break.
Facility Hours
Mercycare Break is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The program may be attended all or part of a day or week.
Transportation
Transportation may be arranged by our staff who will assist in making referrals to any agency which provides specialized transportation.

Eligibility
The registrant must
- Be 18 years or older
- Have an assessment completed by our registered nurse
Mercycare Break will obtain a physician’s order before acceptance into the program.
Insurance Coverage
Individual health insurance policies vary and may or may not provide coverage for this service. Medicaid coverage is available for Medicaid eligible individuals.
We can help you determine coverage under your insurance policy.
Funding is also available through Steuben County Office for the Aging and the Veteran’s Administration for eligible clients.
