    Job Summary:The Advanced Practice Provider is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) that works in a collaborative relationship with a physician provider to oversee the care delivered to a patient population, and meet Hospital goals for safety and quality. The NP is responsible for direct patient care, documentation of care delivered, adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures and practice standards, education of patients and staff, assurance of service excellence, completion of state and hospital-required reviews of practice, and participation in performance improvement and other activities as required.
    Patient & Family Centered Care
    • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness. Coordinates the nursing plan of care with the medical plan of care.

    Job Summary:Assists with general patient care, data collection, documentation, application of monitoring devices, communicates patient data to nurse, stocks necessary equipment and supplies in patient rooms.   • Physical Therapy Assistant
    Job Responsibilities:
    • Carries out program of therapeutic exercise and treatment procedures for assigned patients as selected and delegated by the supervising physical therapist.
    • Under supervision administers physical therapy treatments and/or modalities as directed in patient's plan of care, except for specialized procedures which are outside his/her expertise.
    • With prior approval by the supervising physical therapist may adjust a specific treatment in accordance with changes in patient's status.
    • Instructs patients on segments of the program including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, orthotics and prosthetic appliances and devices.
    • Maintains written progress notes on the patients assigned to him/her, both inpatient and outpatient.

    Job Summary: The ED at St. James Mercy Hospital serves as the "front door" of our institution with the majority of admissions coming through our ED. Physicians working in the clinical environment are expected to have a clear understanding of our role in patient care, as well as the requirements needed to care for patients in our environment.
    Demonstrates Proficiency
    • Perform assessment/examinations on initial encounter with unscheduled, emergency and new patients.
    • Coordinate patient treatment plan and consult specialists as appropriate
    • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests necessary to complete the evaluation and treatment plan
    • Performs necessary procedural skills like endotracheal intubation, central line placement, etc.

    Job Responsibilities: Performs radiological examinations as requested by referring clinicians. Operates X-Ray equipment, prepares examination room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media as needed. Also provides patient services using imaging modalities.
    Job Results and Essential Functions
    • Prepares room, equipment, contrast material (barium, etc.) as needed for the patient.
    • Prepares the patient for the procedure—explains procedures, transfers the patient to the table, positions the patient and assists the patients as needed with the patient is in our department.
    • Follows prescribed procedures when performing the radiographic examinations (adjusts equipment; determines proper voltage, current, and exposure time; arranges immobilization and support devices to help obtain the correct patient position; and provides lead shielding.
    • Observes the patient and equipment during the procedure and reports unusual occurrences to the manager.
    • Performs portable and OR examination as requested.
    • Assists the Radiologist during interventional procedures (technically or as a sterile assistant).
    • Cleans and disinfects the X-Ray rooms and equipment.
    • Maintains stock supplies.
    • Works evenings and weekends as scheduled.
    • Supervises student technologists in the Clinical areas.
    • Performs general office duties as necessary.
    • Transports patients as necessary.
    • Helps gather and correlate information for the Performance Improvement Program and participates on PIC teams as needed.
    • Attends educational programs as required by the Hospital, NYSDOH and the ARRT.

    Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab RN per diem

    Job Summary: Provides direct patient care in Out-Patient Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Monitors patients during exercise sessions. Nursing responsibilities focus on preventative and restorative healthcare needs of the cardiovascular patient. Provides patient education on disease entities, cardiac and pulmonary risk factors, and behavior modification.

    Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment plan of care. Communicates with Surgeon and Anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Maintains surgical standards and acts as a patient safety advocate.
    Responsibilities:
    • Practice the philosophy, policies, procedures, and quality standards of the Operating Room according to the mission, vision, and values of Saint James Mercy Hospital.
    • Perform daily duties and complete in a timely manner in all services including, but not limited to: General surgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, Endoscopy, GYN.
    • Verifies all information pertaining to patient and procedure before the cases and brings any discrepancies to the attention of the Surgeon and Anesthesiologist.
    • Promote quality communication between team members
    • Follows all surgical standards, universal precautions, and departmental procedures for pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care.
